Nine social humanoid robots will interact with journalists at a press conference that will be organized next July by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) during their annual summit on the use of iartificial intelligence for laudable purposes.
According to the organization, which functions as an arm of the United Nations specializing in technology, a group of robots in human form, and capable of interacting with people, will answer questions from the press in an event without precedent worldwide that will take place in Geneva on July 6 and 7.

In addition, about forty robots, designed to carry out tasks such as putting out fires, building houses or providing health care, will be present with their creators and will show their capabilities to the participants in the summit, which is open for free after registration.
An ILO spokesman told the Spanish agency efe that among the robots that will come into contact with journalists will be beonmithe first fully functional, general-purpose humanoid robot, developed by the company Beyond Imagination.
They would also be Nadine, one of the most realistic social humanoids that exist, developed by the University of Geneva; Sophia (Hanson Robotics), an innovative robot that acts as an ambassador for a United Nations agency dedicated to promoting development; Ai-Da Robot (Aidan Meller), an artist robot considered “ultra-realistic”, and Grace (SingularityNET), one of the most advanced exemplars in healthcare.
With its summit on artificial intelligence, the ITU aims to demonstrate that new technologies can help meet the Sustainable Development Goals, outlined by the United Nations with the horizon of 2030, particularly in areas such as the fight against the climate crisis. and humanitarian response in crisis contexts.
Confirmed speakers at ITU’s “AI for Good” summit include Lila Ibrahim, COO of DeepMind, Co-Founder and Chair of Team4Tech, and UK AI Council Member; the Israeli historian and writer Yuval Noah Harari and the ex-soccer player Iker Casillas.
