The National Council of Free trade zone of Exportation (CNZFE) approved the installation of nine new companies of free trade zone and two industrial parks in various locations in the country, which will create 2,127 direct jobs.
The new companies approved in the ordinary session of the Board of Directors will invest 3,173 million pesos and plan to produce foreign exchange for an amount of 12.3 million dollars.
Meanwhile, the two industrial parks will settle in the provinces Santo Domingo Y espaillat. In both, it is estimated to invest 240.8 million pesos in their construction and a generation of foreign currency for a value of 3.7 million dollars.
The council meeting was chaired by the Minister of MICM, Victor -Ito- Bisonówho expressed his satisfaction with the positive numbers exhibited by the sector of free trade zone“which, for the second year in a row, register double-digit growth,” he added.
He also indicated that the sector represents an important source of capital injection for the dominican economygeneration of direct jobs and more exports.
On his side, the executive director of the CNZFE, Daniel Liranzo, indicated that the approved companies will engage in textile manufacturing activities, call center services, production of biofertilizers, manufacturing of jewelry, labels, footwear, and others. .
He explained that the favorable business climate and investments in the country have contributed to the good performance of the free trade zone“all this thanks to the efforts and tireless work of the current government, which continues to focus on attracting new investment and consolidating those already installed in the country.”
The places where these companies will be located are:
- San Pedro de Macoris,
- Santo Domingo,
- San Cristobal,
- flints and
- Santiago.
The meeting, which was held at the Ministry’s headquarters, was also attended by the Vice Minister of Free trade zone and Special Regimes of the MICM, Carlos Guillermo Flaquer; the president of the Dominican Association of Free trade zone (Adozona), Luis José Bonilla Bojos; and the general director of Proindustria, Ulises Rodríguez.
In addition, Ruth De los Santos, General Director of Tax Policy and Legislation of the Treasury; Mildred Santos, technical deputy director of ProDominicana; Hendrik Kelner, president of Procigar; Elizabeth Mena, the president of Adoexpo, among other representatives of the sector.
