The President of the Board of Directors of the company FrigoincaNilo Burga Malca, was found dead. This was confirmed by his lawyer Félix Chero to Latina Noticias. Burga Malca was found inside a room at the ‘Luz y Luna’ hotel in the Magdalena district.
Peru21 Attorney Félix Chero was also contacted, who added that the circumstances of the death are still unknown. “Confirmed, circumstances still unknown“said Chero.
According to the investigation by the Public Ministry, Nilo Burga Malca would have coordinated with Fredy Hinojosa when he was director of Qali Warma to issue resolutions “for the benefit” of his company.
This company was responsible for the production and distribution of “Don Simón”, a product delivered by the Qali Warma program, but which did not meet quality and health standards.
“Some lots were pure horse; others, pure beef; others, mixed,” declared Noemí Alvarado, former Frigoinca worker and current key witness in the Qali Warma case. That contained the now famous cans of Don Simón, the Frigoinca brand, which was distributed to the poorest schools in at least eight regions in the country.
In Puno, La Libertad, Áncash, Lambayeque, Ayacucho, Ica, Madre de Dios and Piura, children enrolled in the school feeding program received this product, ate it and in some cities became poisoned.
Frigoinca was well hidden under the name of consortiums such as: Tasayco group, Copsa, Amazon consortium, among others.
FRIGOINCA RAID
The First Prosecutor’s Office Specialized in Corruption Crimes of Officials of Lima (Fourth Office) directed the search procedure for the purpose of seizure of 17 properties linked to 14 investigated for the crime of criminal organization, collusion, influence peddling, active and passive bribery. ; for alleged acts of corruption related to the marketing of preserved foods in poor condition to the Qali Warma National School Feeding Program.
The diligence took place, simultaneously, in 10 districts of Metropolitan Lima and in Huaura; where documents and devices relevant to the investigation were seized, the contents of which will be subjected to judicially authorized information visualization and extraction procedures.
According to the tax investigation, this alleged criminal organization would be constituted, promoted, financed, integrated and linked by members of the FrigoInca company and officials or public servants of the Qali Warma program.
Said criminal network would have operated under a corruption mechanism consisting of the delivery of bribes to various officials of the aforementioned food program, the General Directorate of Health (Digesa), and other State entities and private individuals, since approximately 2020.
The properties raided belong to the alleged members of the criminal organization in their capacity as FrigoInca workers: Nilo Burga (leader of the organization); Michael Burga, Edgar Capani, Alejandro Mendiola and Noemí Alvarado (key members); and Delia Zavaleta, Oliver Burga and Paul Burga (members).
