On December 25, 2024, Nile Burgaa businessman who provided the Qali Warma program, was found dead in room 301 of the “Luz y Luna” sauna hotel in Magdalena.

After 18 days, a report of Panorama has revealed exclusive images of Burga’s last moments at the hotel, where he arrived in his red car.

According to the Sunday newspaper, room 301 was a space that he frequented, since he lived there for five years. “He asked if there was a sauna, but since we weren’t open due to a holiday, he asked for a room because his lawyer was coming for a gift,” recalled Olivia García, a hotel worker.

At 5:30 pm, Burga’s lawyer and friend, Martín Villalón, arrived at the hotel. After receiving no response in the room, Villalón and Olivia entered with a duplicate key.

What they found was shocking: Nilo Burga’s body was lying on the bed, with a knife at the scene. “Here in his room there was no such thing, those knives are not from here,” Olivia García added.

Suicide?

Forensic anthropologist Dany Humpire analyzed the scene and noted that the injuries were not consistent with a suicide.

“Mostly, suicides by stabbing are cuts on the wrist or here, but never from here to there, from bottom to top to the opposite side. That draws attention, the mechanism of action,” he told the Sunday newspaper. Blood stains were also identified that suggested a struggle that began on the couch and ended on the bed.

“It is an atypical death that does not have the characteristics of suicide. There would be a high probability of a probable homicide,” concluded the athropologist Humpire.

Former MIDIS official denies knowing Burga

Nilo Burga, whose company Frigoinca obtained contracts for 88 million soles with Qali Warma in 2024, had been identified in publications that linked President Dina Boluarte, Minister Julio Demartini and the former head of Qali Warma, Freddy Hinojosa, with acts of corruption.

According to Panorama, Rosario Gonzales Ybañez, a former official of the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion between November 2023 and April 2024, is co-owner of the hotel where Burga was found dead.

Despite this coincidence, Gonzalez Ybañez denied any connection with Burga and declared that he had delivered all the material from the hotel’s security cameras to the authorities.
