Nightclub in the Centenario stadium offers capacity for 40 people

The Ministry of Social Development (Mides) and the Municipality of Montevideo jointly manage a nightclub in the Centenario stadium, which works within the framework of the Winter Plan. The center has a capacity of 40 seats and will remain open until October 31. This Monday the 11th, the owner of the portfolio, Martín Lema, toured the device that receives men who are homeless.

The containment center, which is located in the Administrative Commission of the Official Field (CAFO) within the Centenario Stadium, currently serves 36 homeless people.

In addition to Lema, the undersecretary of Mides, Andrea Brugman; the National Director of Social Protection, Fernanda Auersperg, and the mayor of Montevideo, Carolina Cosse.

The center is open every day, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. the next day, and has a technical team that is made up jointly by the Ministry of Social Development and the Municipality of Montevideo. In addition, food is provided by the National Food Institute (INDA), of the Secretary of State.

On the occasion, Minister Lema pointed out the importance of joint work with the departmental government, noting that it is the first time that a contingency center has been set up with the collaboration of both institutions.
