The ruler Nicolás Maduro said that his new administration aims at the construction of “a new territorialized system of government,” where the communes are included. “We have to build a State, we have to build something else, the base of the State so that the Bolivarian revolution is indestructible and irreversible, is the territory, it is the people in the street.”
On Tuesday, August 20, President Nicolás Maduro criticized the management of opposition mayors, saying that “they govern for small groups” and “spend their time traveling.”
“These right-wing mayors and right-wing governors are the ultimate expression of the bourgeoisie’s method of governing, which governs for small groups, from above, and they spend their time traveling. Where do they spend their time? In Miami, in Bogota, in Europe, so they don’t care,” Maduro said.
He said that his new administration aims at the “consolidation of socialism” and the construction of “a new territorialized system of government,” which includes the communes. “We have to build a State, we have to build something else, the basis of the State so that the Bolivarian revolution is indestructible and irreversible, is the territory, it is the people in the street.”
“The power of the country has to be you and one is an instrument of power,” Maduro insisted to those present.

During a visit The president of the “Ruta de la mandarina” commune in Araira, Miranda state, also promised the construction of collection centers and trucks for the transport of agricultural products. He also called for participation in the consultation of communal councils, scheduled for Sunday 25.
On the other hand, Maduro reported that he is seeking resources to finance 4,505 productive projects affected by the economic sanctions, and he hopes that they can be transformed into six thousand in the next three years. “The fascist ultra-right asked for the sanctions and the wounds are seen in the infrastructure, in electricity, water, public works, schools. And we are paying for it in various ways, one of the fundamental ways is the community, the main one, because you know what is failing.”
