Through a statement this Monday, October 17, during his visit to Las Tejerías, President Nicolás Maduro reported that so far it has been confirmed that three people have died, in Aragua, due to the floods caused by the overflow of the El Castaño River. .
Hours later, Nicolás Maduro traveled to the town of El Castaño to take a tour of the area affected by the floods caused by the overflow of the river.

This Monday, October 17, the Corozal, El Castaño and Palmarito rivers overflowed after heavy rainfall that caused damage in the northern area of Maracay. Through social networks, videos were shared in which the strong currents of water are seen and how they take trees, cars and whatever is in their path.
According to information from local media, the flow of water traveled through Las Delicias de Maracay avenue and the mud reached the vicinity of the Maracay zoo.
Tour of Las Tejerías
Maduro made a second tour in Las Tejerías, Aragua state, to supervise the recovery work of the communities affected by the rains in the area. “We have listened to the needs of the people,” he said.
He commented that “Aragua has been hit hard by these rains, there is a saturation of water from the mountains, things like this catastrophe happen. So far, 54 deaths have been recorded, found, identified, delivered to their relatives, my condolences to all the relatives and all the residents of Las Tejerías for this painful loss of compatriots”.
“We will be with you until we recover Las Tejerías,” he stressed.
He also assured that from next Wednesday “the children of Las Tejerías go to classes so that normality can be recovered.”
