Nicolás Maduro thanked the people of Norway for the “multitudinous march” and the “shocking support” that, he asserted, was given in favor of Venezuela. However, he omitted to refer to the demand of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, which called on him to “leave power” and make way for a democratic transition in the country.

Nicolás Maduro described this Wednesday the 10th the awarding of the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize as an “act full of blood”, after the committee presented the award to the opposition leader María Corina Machado, who could not attend the ceremony in Oslo (Norway).

“When the images reached me from the city of Oslo, where a press conference was held with the most important personalities of the Oslo Peace Committee rejecting the Nobel Prize being filled with blood and war… expressing their opinion against the military aggression of the United States against Venezuela, against the criminal fascist Nazi of the ‘sayona’ and withdrawing from the acts full of blood that were intended to be carried out today,” said Maduro from the Miraflores Palace, after a march for the 166 years of the Battle of Santa Agnes.

The Chavista thanked the people of Norway for the “multitudinous march” and the “shocking support” that, he asserted, was given in favor of Venezuela. “The people know who the Nazis are, who the fascists are, and the people know well who we are.”

He also spoke ironically about the “convening power” of Machado, who called for a series of mobilizations around the world to make visible this recognition that, he said, belongs to the Venezuelan people. “More than 65 marches took place against the war for oil, supporting the people of Venezuela… Not even in Miami did a soul come out to support the sayona,” said Maduro.

Likewise, he called presidents Javier Milei and José Raúl Mulino, two of the leaders who attended the event to support Machado, “ridiculous” and “clowns.”

However, Maduro omitted to refer to the demand of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, which called to “leave power” and give way to a democratic transition in the country, in addition to pointing out it as a “brutal regime” that has committed crimes against humanity with the support of other authoritarianisms such as Cuba, Russia or China and terrorist groups such as Hezbollah.

In his speech, the Chavista leader said that from Venezuela they must be prepared to increase national production, but also “to break the teeth of the North American empire if necessary from Bolívar’s homeland.”

Maduro said that “anyone who wants Venezuelan oil” must respect the country’s laws, not to mention the seizure of an oil tanker off the Venezuelan coast. «They come and pay for their oil. Venezuelan oil colony? “Never again.”

In addition, he demanded the “cessation of illegal and brutal interventionism” that, he said, the United States maintains in the region, as well as the end of “policies of regime change, coups d’état and invasions in the world.”

«The only ones who guarantee peace and stability, and the harmonious development of Venezuela, South America and the Caribbean are us, the Bolivarians of the 21st century. And the only president who has the historical preparation and support of the Armed Forces and the police of this country is called Nicolás Maduro,” he stated.
