Nick Hardt debuts this Tuesday at the RD Open 2024

Santo Domingo.- The first national racket, Nick Hardt, will debut this Tuesday at the RD Open 2024, presented by the Ministry of Tourism, when he faces the Australian Bernard Tomic at the MITUR stadium, not before 5:00 p.m.

The 2015 RD Open champion, third-seeded Bosnian Damir Dzumhur, will open the card against American Cannon Kingsley, who came through the qualifier. After the Hardt/Tomic match, the tournament’s number one, Argentine Federico Coria and his compatriot Facundo Mena will face each other in a first-round encounter.

Results

In the opening round of the main draw matches on Monday, fourth seeded Serbian Laslo Djere defeated Frenchman Maxime Janvier in two tight sets 7-6 (3), 7-6 (5).

Later, after a long rallies, Argentine Juan Pablo Ficovich defeated Dominican Peter Bertran 6-3, 6-2.

In other first-round results, seventh seed Murkiel Dellien of Bolivia needed three sets to defeat Canadian Alexis Galarneau 7-6 (5), 3-6, 6-1.

The tournament

The RD Open 2024 is an ATP Challenger 125 tournament that takes place on the courts of the Santo Domingo Tennis Club (La Bocha) until next Saturday, August 11. The event features international athletes among the best 100 in the world in doubles and singles.

The Santo Domingo Challenger distributes a prize pool of 164 thousand dollars among the participants and awards 125 points to the doubles and singles champions.
