Nicaraguans marched in Miami commemorating four years of civic rebellion

Less than 24 hours after commemorating four years of the civic rebellion of April 18, 2018, approximately 400 Nicaraguans exiled in the United States carried out the “Las Cruces” march this Sunday in honor of the victims of the violence of the dictatorship of Ortega and Murillo.

The march was attended by former politicians Edwin Carcache, Ireland Jerez, among other opponents who had to flee the repression in the country.

The demonstrators carried Nicaraguan flags and banners with photographs of the victims of the 2018 repression, as well as of the political prisoners held in the different prison systems of the regime.

There was also a photograph of Alvarito Conrado, a teenager who was murdered when he was delivering water to university students who were protesting near the University of Engineering, that of the 14-month-old boy Teyler Lorío, the journalist Ángel Gahona, murdered on April 21 while covering the protests in Bluefields and the political prisoners Karla Escobar, Wilfredo Brenes and Edward Lacayo.

“This fight is not over, until the dictator is gone!” “Justice, justice!” were some of the cries of the compatriots who gathered to march against the Ortega regime.

The opponents culminated the tour by thanking the United States government for allowing them to march and express themselves against Ortega. “Thank you for showing solidarity with the relatives of those murdered, with the political prisoners, with the thousands of exiles who suffer outside of Nicaragua.”
