Nicaraguans in different parts of the world are organizing to march in their cities on November 6 and 7, a day before and during the voting in Nicaragua, in which the ruler Daniel Ortega will participate endorsed only by collaborationist parties, after canceling legal status. opposition political parties and imprison seven presidential candidates.

Among the countries where these marches will take place are Canada, United States, Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama, Guatemala, Peru, Spain, Italy, France, England, Belgium, Denmark, Switzerland, Germany, Ireland and Greece.

The marches will be named after “Banderillazo of the Great World March”, that seeks to demonstrate the repudiation of Nicaraguans in the world against the elections in the Central American country, but also with what pThey retain making themselves heard by the different countries so that they declare Ortega illegitimate as president of Nicaragua and he is not recognized as a democratic ruler.

Alfonso Hernández, from the Nica Connection organization, explained that at least 12 European countries and 22 cities will hold demonstrations, as well as in 14 US states, where more than one event will be held during the two days of protest. They estimate that at least 30 or 40 events will take place, even a week before the elections.

The protesters will show their repudiation of what they called “An electoral circus”, Since there is no political competition, Daniel Ortega’s regime will fraudulently maintain power for a new period, which would be the third in a row, which would mean that Ortega would reach 20 continuous years in power in 2027.

Luis Montoya, representing the Spanish organizations, said that Nicaraguans want to “put Nicaragua in the world and from the outside we are not going to accept another government of this regime, we are not going to accept more repression.”

In Costa Rica, the march will leave at 9 in the morning from La Merced Park and will culminate with a statement in the Plaza de la Democracito. In parallel, another group of protesters will go to protest at the Nicaraguan consulate in Costa Rica.

In Nicaragua, due to the repression of the regime against anyone who wants to demonstrate, internal organizations decided to carry out other types of protest acts like printing ballots or painting on the walls.

“The paintings have not been made as we expect, due to the same situation of repression,” said one of the members of the organizations in Nicaragua, who assures that, despite the fact that there will be demonstrations in other countries, within the country there are more ” in silence ”, to avoid being captured by the security apparatus of the dictatorship.

Esmeralda Green, on behalf of the protesting organizations from Ireland, explained that this march will serve as a catalyst so that the exiles in the world can unite in a “great group”, around the world that will not use their logos or ideologies, but rather will a single voice to tell the dictatorship “enough is enough.”

Green also said that the demonstration will demand the freedom of the more than 159 political prisoners who are in the prisons of the dictatorship of Daniel Ortega.
