Nicaraguan citizen Byron Quintero Núñez, 34, was assassinated on Monday, December 5. He received five bullet wounds directed by unknown persons from a car moving on a street in Parrita, Puntarenas, Costa Rica, confirmed the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) of that country.
The situation occurred yesterday afternoon when the victim was walking on a street in the area called Reformadores, where he was intercepted by the subjects who shot him, causing serious injuries that caused his death. Although Gutiérrez was taken alive by rescuers from the Costa Rican Red Cross to the Max Terán Vall hospital in Quepos, after two hours he died.

The victim had gunshot wounds to his arms, chest and head, said the medical authorities who confirmed his death in the early hours of Monday night. So far the causes of the crime are unknown, but locals believe that it could have been a settling of scores.
The Judicial Investigation Agency reported that the vehicle used to kill the Nicaraguan was found a few kilometers from the place in a lonely dead end alley. This is the reason why the Judicial Investigation authorities suspect that the crime is related to disputes between rival groups linked to organized crime.
This Monday, the Nicaraguan Luis Enrique Vanegas Arias, 36, also died when he was attacked with a knife during an assault in San Francisco, Heredia, Costa Rica. The events occurred in the Guararí neighborhood, 100 meters south of the La Central bakery, in front of the Sol y Luna Bazar, on the main street.
Apparently the victim was with some acquaintances celebrating that that day they paid him the bonus, the fortnight and the liquidation when he was attacked by armed individuals to steal the money.
According to the Judicial Investigation Agency, some neighbors heard a fight on the public road and when they came out they found Vanegas lying on the public road, for which they notified the authorities. Upon the arrival of the Red Cross, he no longer had signs of life and he was declared deceased at the scene. According to his relatives, the thugs took all his belongings from the victim.
