Nicaraguan roots are not uprooted “with a vulgar writing”

periodismo en libertad, Carlos Fernando Chamorro salió de nicaragua

He stripping of citizenship and citizen rights perpetually to another 94 Nicaraguansaccused by the Public Ministry of the alleged crime of “treason against the homeland”, is an act “toarbitrary and illegal” that does not respond to “any legal criteria”, reacted some of the Nicaraguans whom the regime renders stateless, due to the questioned measure ordered by Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo.

Nicaraguan roots, said those affected, cannot be uprooted “with a vulgar writing” and warned that “The time will come for the Nicaraguan people and for the victims of the crimes against humanity” perpetrated by Ortega.

Between the “new stateless” there is the director of CONFIDENTIALCarlos Fernando Chamorro, who pointed out that, with all these criminal actionsthe dictators they are affirming that, for many years, Nicaragua ceased to be a society in which the law and the Constitution are respected, to impose the law of revenge, caprice and hatred against citizens who aspire to live in a free society.

Chamorro valued that those punished with these insane actions It is not only the 94 citizens listed, who are added to thehe 222 Nicaraguans stripped of their citizenship last week and Bishop Rolando Álvarez, but they are all the economic and social sectors of the country that demand a change with justice and freedom.

The punishment order issued by the dictators is telling all citizens in Nicaragua that there will never be peace, there will be no economic solution, there will never be stability or a political future with a corrupt family dictatorship, which seeks to enthrone itself in power”, said the renowned journalist.

Just as in 2018 they massacred the people, the same as in 2021, when they annulled the right to choose and be elected by eliminating competition in the elections, now —by imposing the Law of the Jungle— Ortega and Murillo are digging their own grave by exhibiting the enormous political weakness of his regime, because life sentences are just an illusion at the top of the ruling family, while all the people of Nicaragua know that the time of the dictatorship is running out. Nicaragua urgently needs a change, a change with democracy, justice, without impunityChamorro denounced.

Regime has “debts with humanity” and Nicaraguans

Human rights defender and member of the Nicaragua Nunca Más Human Rights Collective, Gonzalo Carrión, pointed out that his proud to be nicaraguan no one takes it away, except those who included it in that list of assumptions traitors to the homeland and they declared it fugitive from justice.

With pride, with an open chest, without a murderous rifle and without a weapon in hand, with truth and reason I tell you: the time will come for the Nicaraguan people, for the victims of crimes against humanity, for the pain of an entire people, for the more than half a million who have left the country forced by this system of persecution. I tell the criminal family and their accomplices… Here I am firm and dignifiedsaid the defender.

The main person in charge of the US Department of State for Latin America, Brian Nichols, condemned the withdrawal of the nationality of 94 other Nicaraguans, including the writers Sergio Ramírez and Gioconda Belli, as well as the auxiliary bishop of Managua, Silvio Báez.

We condemn the actions of the Government of Nicaragua today to strip the nationality of another 94 Nicaraguan citizensindicated the Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, in a message.

In the message, sent to journalists by the press office of the US embassy in Nicaragua, Nichols warned that this deplorable act distances Nicaraguans further from the democracy they deserve.

Along the same lines, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) condemned in the strongest way this new wave of human rights violations in Nicaragua and called on the Nicaraguan State to immediately cease the persecution and reprisals against human rights defenders and dissident voices, and restore all their rights and freedoms.

The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) repudiated the decision of the Government of Nicaragua to arbitrarily deprive defender Vilma Núñez de Escorcia of her nationality along with 93 other people and pointed urges to protect his life and integrity in accordance with the provisional measures granted by the Inter-American Courtof which she is a beneficiary.

other action arbitrary and illegal

The lawyer and former official of the Judiciary, Yader Morazán, was not surprised to have been declared a “traitor to the country”, stripped of his citizenship and that legal proceedings have been opened against him in Nicaragua. What really surprises him, he assured, is the “ridiculousness” of the Nicaraguan judges and magistrates who lend themselves to “simulating a process” without any appearance of legality.

“We know that what they are doing is totally arbitrary and illegal. They continue to get entangled in their own web and they have to account for this one day,” Morazán warned.

He recalled that Article 20 of the Political Constitution of Nicaragua establishes that “Nicaraguans cannot be stripped of their citizenship,” and that “the laws do not apply to the past. That doesn’t work like that,” he noted.

In addition, “a judge who does not have jurisdiction cannot resolve, much less without a judicial process,” Morazán explained. “I have not been heard and in Nicaragua there are no criminal proceedings in absentia. This is totally arbitrary.”

ANDhe priest Edwin Román, exiled parish priest of the San Miguel Arcángel church, in the city of Masaya, pointed out that he is “proudly Nicaraguan” and assured that “the dictators of Nicaragua, Rosario Murillo and Daniel Ortega, are wrong to believe that they dispossessed me of my nationality with a vulgar writing”.

“I’ll be free!” he exclaimed.

The director of Boletín Ecológico, journalist David Quintana, called on the Ortega y Murillo regime to respond: “When did I participate in a coup? When did I murder someone? When did I steal from the people of Nicaragua? When did I conspire to go into exile? Questions that, he assured, have no answers because everything that has been said about him is simply completely false. “We are going to keep fighting!” He pointed out.

Along the same lines, the former Nicaraguan ambassador to the Organization of American States (OAS), Arturo McFields, reacted to the news by thanking God because, he assessed, “this means that we are fighting not with hate but with love so that Nicaragua return to democracy.

The regime also ordered “the immobilization and confiscation in favor of the State of Nicaragua of all real estate and companies that the defendants have registered in their favor, either in their personal capacity, or of legal persons or companies in which they participate as partners, to answer for the crimes committed.”
