Nicaragua signs an agreement with Iran to distribute medicines in the country

The regime of Daniel Ortega, through the Nicaraguan Social Security Institute (INSS), the pharmaceutical Ramos Laboratoryproperty of the INSS, and the Blue Cross Distributorlinked to a government official, signed a cooperation agreement with the Barekat pharmaceutical group of Iran, which will allow the Central American country “to obtain quality medicines, medical supplies and Iranian raw material for the preparation of medicines,” the regime reported this Sunday, June 26.

The agreement was signed in Managua by the sanctioned executive president of the Nicaraguan Institute of Social Security (INSS), Roberto Lópezand the general manager of the Barekat Pharmaceutical Group, Akbar Borandegí.

The Nicaraguan official said that this agreement will allow Nicaragua to advance in cooperation on health issues through the distribution of Iranian medicine and medical supplies. Likewise, he explained that it will make it easier for Nicaragua to obtain quality medicines, medical supplies and Iranian raw material for the manufacture of medicines.

In addition to “collecting the will to prepare pre-feasibility studies for the future installation of a drug plant in our country in conjunction with Iran,” Ortega’s official promised.

The designated presidential adviser for investment, trade and international cooperation of Nicaragua participated as a witness of the signing, sanctioned Laureano Ortega Murilloson of the dictatorial couple Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo.

Ortega Murillo expressed “that Iran and Nicaragua share ideals” and stressed that both countries work together in strategic areas, such as health.

The Minister of Health, Martha Reyes, present at the event, thanked the Barekat Group for its visit and announced that priority will be given to the recognition and registration of the medicines that are most used in Nicaragua “to strengthen our model of family and community health.” ».

For his part, the general manager of the Barekat pharmaceutical group stressed that Iran has “more than 41 years of experience in the field of medicine and that this knowledge will be transmitted” to Nicaragua. He explained that Iran has more than 130 medicine factories, 75 raw material production factories, and more than 100 distribution companies, and confirmed the support in training human resources in the pharmaceutical and health areas that they will offer in Nicaragua.

Iran is one of the countries that congratulated Ortega on his re-election in the controversial general elections on November 7, considered illegitimate by the bulk of the international community, including the United States, which called it a “pantomime” because it was they arrested seven potential presidential candidates from the opposition, and more than 30 leaders from various sectors.

Iran sent Mohsen Rezai to Ortega’s investiture ceremony on January 10, one of those accused by the Argentine Justice for the 1994 attack against the AMIA Jewish mutual society in Buenos Aires, whose presence in Managua was condemned for 22 of the 34 countries that are active members of the Organization of American States (OAS).

On the other hand, Laboratorios Ramos and Distribuidoras Cruz Azul were some of the companies “blessed” by the regime during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, receiving juicy contracts for periodic replacement materials, medical supplies, personal protective equipment, medicine, ventilators and reagents for COVID-19 tests.

Journalistic investigations also identify former Vice Minister of Health Napoleón Antonio Ortega Balladares, who also worked at the Nicaraguan Social Security Institute (INSS), as representative before the agreements of Cruz Azul and the Minsa.
