The game was tied until minute 81, when Bonilla launched a Panenka-like free kick that he himself had caused in the Salvadoran area.
The goal amazed the spectators, not only because of its surprise, but also because of the suspense that accompanied the play, since the Salvadoran goalkeeper, Tomás Romero, after diving to his right, had time to scramble and touch the ball, which finally entered.
