The bodies of the 15 Venezuelans who died in a traffic accident On July 27 in Nicaragua while they were crossing the country in their attempt to reach the United States, they were finally handed over to a Venezuelan commission, led by its ambassador, José Arrúe, the official media reported.

The accident where 16 people died, 15 of them Venezuelans, occurred in the department of Estelí, located in the central zone of the country.

The director of the Institute of Legal Medicine, Julio Espinoza Castro, told the Venezuelan diplomat and the delegation that accompanied him that supposedly since the deceased entered said institution there had been “high disposition of both governments since the tragedy was known.”

“The efforts that your government has made with ours have given results, because we are managing to finish the work that we have done from the first day together with the National Police, the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of the Interior,” according to Espinoza, quoted by the ruling party. .

Meanwhile, Arrue thanked “the Nicaraguan government for being willing to serve a tragic situation.”

“We didn’t know anything, what to do, or how to do it, but hand in hand with you everything has flowed very well. “I am infinitely grateful for what you did and continue to do, know that the Venezuelan government and the people will once again be infinitely grateful to you,” added Arrúe.

At the moment it is unknown when the transfer of the bodies will take place. According to the local newspaper La Prensa, some of the relatives were told that not all the deceased have completed the corresponding paperwork, as long as they do not obtain authorization from a relative.

One of the most tragic accidents recently

The accident in Nicaragua has been one of the most tragic recently related to Venezuelan migrants.

The events occurred on the night of July 27 when a bus with at least 90 people plunged into an abyss after colliding with two vehicles.

The bus driver, Alfredo Antonio Palma, is in preventive detention and will go to trial on August 22 for the alleged crimes of reckless homicide to the detriment of 16 Venezuelan migrants and one Nicaraguan who were seeking to reach the United States.
