The former president and current director of Yacyretá, Nicanor Duarte Frutos, highlighted the figure of Santiago Peña and estimated that he will be the great winner of Sunday’s elections. He also appreciated the campaign being carried out by Paraguayo Cubas, who is fighting for second place with Efraín Alegre.
In an interview with radio 650 AM, the Colorado leader Nicanor Duarte Fruits indicated that “the cars are prepared for a great victory next Sunday”, taking into account that there is great passion throughout the country.
“Last night we had a memorable act in San Juan. I believe that coloradismo will have a resounding triumph. We are closer than ever. The people responded by uniting and taking coloradism to the last corner and peasant ranch, ”he said.
Nicanor said that in the red tents there is a young figure (Santiago Peña) who won some vibrant and very stressed internal, and that during those years of management and militancy he assimilated the feelings of the Paraguayan people, which is why he leads all the polls from the beginning, even in the internal ones, as he highlighted. “He is expected to govern in a framework of building large agreements, Santi will have a more favorable time because Paraguay will start to grow again”, he added.
On the other hand, he considered that the Concertación was not enthusiastic, so much so that Payo Cubas is fighting hard to occupy second place. “I think the victory will be clear because what the Concertación expects is a tight difference to talk about party fraud. Payo had significant growth, surprising how it grew. If he could translate the intention of voting, he would be in second place, far from Efraín, ”she visualized.
“They tried to install that Santi and Efraín were head to head but that is not the case, I wonder why the big media that are sympathetic to Efraín don’t show his polls. For the first time in many years, the newspapers that always show polls now do not. Santi Peña is very high”, he pointed out.
