Nicanor Boluarte’s Party achieves its registration with the JNE

Nicanor Boluarte's Party achieves its registration with the JNE

On January 15, the National Election Jury (JNE) approved the registration of the political party Citizens for Peru. A political organization that, according to the fiscal hypothesis, would have been registered illegally thanks to Nicanor Boluarte and its interference in the highest levels of the Government.

Until recently, Nicanor Boluarte was in preventive detention for the case The Waykis in the Shadow. According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the president’s brother used the influence he had through Dina Boluarte to appoint prefects and sub-prefects in different regions of the country. This, in exchange for obtaining signatures and financial contributions to achieve the registration of his political group Ciudadanos por el Perú.

Citizens for Peru achieved registration on January 15.

The decision made by the JNE comes one day after the Public Ministry confirmed that subprefects of Lima, Cajamarca and San Martín were appointed “directly and personally” during Dina Boluarte’s administration.

With the registration of Citizens for Peru, the JNE has 40 parties registered in the Registry of Political Organizations (ROP). This means that the party linked to Nicanor Boluarte could participate in the next general, regional and municipal elections in 2026.
