A call for dialogue was made by the National Institute of Human Rights (INDH) after the ultimatum issued by the members of the take that has occupied the central headquarters of the organization located in Eliodoro Yáñez, Providencia, for five months.
Yesterday afternoon, the occupants issued a statement announcing that the building “will be a place under the control of the people” and gave the agency 24 hours to remove documents from the building.
Faced with this ultimatum and the eviction versions, the INDH issued a statement today reiterating “the proposal it made on August 6 in order to set up a work table once our central office has been vacated.”
The NHRI statement states that “the headquarters houses sensitive documents for victims of human rights violations. In the face of any damage to this material, those who remain in the outlet must assume their responsibility. The INDH reiterates the call for dialogue ”.
The statement of the National Institute of Human Rights was answered by Víctor Chanfreau, leader of the ACES and of the seizure, who through Twitter summoned the director of the organization, Sergio Micco.
“Micco now cares about the victims. How? Attempting to evict NHRI. At the same time, it fires workers from fundamental programs for survivors. It also denies the systematic violations of human rights in Chile. What other arguments do they need? ”, He indicated.
