NGO reports that the Prosecutor's Office charged Roland Carreño and Freddy Superlano with three crimes

The prosecutors of case 38 and 74 at the national level charged them with the crimes of terrorism, treason and association to commit a crime against the political leaders Roland Carreño and Freddy Superlano. The NGO Coalition for Human Rights and Democracy indicated that they were presented before the Third Court against Terrorism


The non-governmental organization Coalition for Human Rights and Democracy reported that the political leaders Roland Carreño and Freddy Superlano, as well as Ricardo Estevez, founder and former director of Súmate, among others, were accused of three crimes by the Prosecutor’s Office: terrorism, treason and association to commit a crime.

According to information published on the NGO’s social networks, andLast October 11 at night, the preliminary hearing was held in the case of this group of political prisonersbefore the third control court with jurisdiction over Terrorism at the headquarters of the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin) in Helicoide, Caracas.

“The prosecutors of case 38 and 74 at the national level charged them with the crimes of terrorism, treason and association to commit a crime; they were put on trial without the right to be defended by a lawyer they trusted,” said the Coalition for the Human Rights and Democracy.

Carreño, who is a lawyer, journalist and national operational coordinator of the political organization Voluntad Popular, was arrested on August 2 by police officials on Baralt Avenue, in the center of the city of Caracas, and after the protests that were generated throughout the country, due to the results of July 28 in the presidential elections for which data from each electoral center is not available.

While Freddy Superlano, former deputy and leader of Voluntad Popular, was arrested on July 30 by officials of the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command (Conas) while trying to enter a building in the Sebucán urbanization, east of Caracas. On August 26, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights granted precautionary measures “after considering that they are in a serious and urgent situation of risk of irreparable damage to their rights in Venezuela.”

For his part, Ricardo Estévez was one of the founders of the Súmate Civil Association and is part of the Vente Venezuela electoral team. Government security officials arrested him on July 30 when he left his home in El Cafetal in Caracas.
