Since Monday, private emblems raised G. 1,000 for gasoline and G. 1,500 for diesel. With this measure, the transport company centrals analyze the increase in the price of the ticket.
César Ruiz Díaz, president of the Metropolitan Area Passenger Transport Business Center (Cetrapam), reported that the final price of the ticket has an upward trend, but this will not be felt by the passenger because all the previous increases that impacted were absorbed. by the State based on the public transport subsidy.
“I think this will be no exception. In other words, the differential passage today is G. 5,314 and people pay G. 3,400. This thanks to the subsidy that the State grants to passengers. So there is no risk for the concern of the passenger, but rather of the businessman”, he stated.
When asked about how much the technical rate would amount to with the rise in fuel, he stated that not only the fuel issue comes into play for setting a rise, but also the number of validations per month (number of passengers), dollar price , and the mileage travelled.
“The rates are studied once a month and each month there is a different rate. This is endorsed by decree of the Executive Power. So what corresponds now is that we sit down to study the technical rate that corresponds to February and March. I estimate that in the course of the next week there will be news, “he said.
Juan José Vidal, head of the National Directorate of Transport (Dinatran), stated for his part that this weekend there would be news about the costs of short, medium and long distance tickets. However, he did not want to anticipate how much the increase could be.
“Today (for yesterday, Monday) we are going to analyze the impact of the new rise in diesel. We must keep in mind that contract companies buy from private labels, not from Petropar,” he explained.
SUBSIDIES
Desirée Masi, a national senator for the PDP, said that the price of fuel will have to rise if the rise in barrels of oil continues.
“Argentina had to raise the subsidy. Chile injected US$270 million into its stabilization fund. Here it is going to have to rise if the international rise continues”, he affirmed.
He pointed out that the private emblems have already requested subsidies at the time, but this is unacceptable for the congressmen, since most of these businessmen are linked to public transport companies and this sector already receives subsidies.
“The gastronomic and hotel industry suspended VAT payment to lighten their prices for customers, but they did not move. When they were complained about, they stated that they took that as a subsidy because they had no sales, ”he questioned.
Gilberto “Tony” Apuril, national senator for Hagamos, affirmed that our country will always depend on the international price, so if the barrels of oil go up, the increase in the price of fuel is inevitable.
“At some point it will go down. With roadblocks we will not be able to avoid it. This situation will not last forever. There is more chance of it ending in the short term than in the long term,” he said.
Finally, he said that the recently approved law only represents a plank between one price and the other, and that it will not lower the price.
“It’s something that can’t be fixed. We were wrong at the time when we based the economic matrix only on hydrocarbons, but it is another issue, it is not something that we can modify now”, he stated.
BASIC BASKET
Economist Andrés Filártiga told Monumental AM that the basket should not rise along with the increase in fuel. This is due to the fact that 85% of the fuel (type 3 diesel) used by the production chain has a subsidy.
