The amount of the transfer of the 23-year-old player (14 games with the ‘Azzurra’) would rise to 64 million euros (close to 70 million dollars), with some variables that could increase this figure well above the 57 million euros (62 million dollars) that Chelsea paid in 2018 for Jorginho, coming from Naples.

“First of all, I want to thank Newcastle because they offer me a huge opportunity for my career. I want to justify my confidence on the pitch by giving my all, as always”, explained the player on the ‘Urracas’ website.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe was “delighted” to have the player. “He has exceptional talent, he has the mentality, physical and technical attributes to be a great reinforcement for us”, he valued.

Howe also highlighted Tonali’s experience in the Champions League, since he has played 12 Champions League games with the Rosssoneriwho reached the semifinals last season.

Newcastle (4th last season) ranked for the first time in 20 years for the most prestigious European competition.
