The moment in which a woman took advantage of a mother’s carelessness to kidnap a newborn baby was recorded on video.
The robbery attempt was foiled thanks to hospital guard where they were. The accused was captured.
According to the Bolívar Police, Brenda Yissel Núñez Castañedathe accused, was in the maternity ward of the La Divina Misericordia Hospital and barely noticed that the mother of a one-day-old girl fell asleep, took her in her arms and prepared to leave the medical center.
The guard at the main entrance reported an unusual and suspicious attitude. Furthermore, the woman did not have the authorization documents, so at that moment the security protocol.

The official report delivered by the authorities maintains that Núñez presented baseless excuses to try to successfully date the baby.
The captured person was left at the disposal of the Prosecutor’s Office, under the crime of simple kidnapping. Hours later, in the middle of preliminary hearings, a judge of the Republic decided to impose security measure in prison.

The case, although it ended with the timely rescue of the newborn, sets off alarms and intensifies control and prevention efforts by the authorities.
In this regard, the commander of the Bolívar Police Department, Colonel Alejandro Reyes Ramírez, indicated: “Every boy and girl in Colombia must grow up safe, free of threats and surrounded by protection.”
The Police concluded by calling on the general public to continue warning of any suspicious activity that may affect the country’s children.
