New York County District Attorney Alvin Leonard Bragg has announced the 34-felony indictment against former United States President Donald J. Trump. “No matter who you are, we cannot normalize serious criminal behavior,” he said. “These are serious crimes in New York,” he added.
During Tuesday’s hearing, the prosecutor alleged that Donald Trump and his associates “repeatedly and fraudulently falsified New York business records” in order to hide illegal information and activities from American voters.
“True and accurate business records are important everywhere, no doubt. They are even more important in Manhattan, the financial center of the world,” Bragg said.
He assured that the prosecutor’s office, as it has done before, today defends its “solemn responsibility to guarantee that everyone is equal before the law. No amount of money and no amount of power changes that enduring principle,” he concluded.
