On January 22, the appointment of the officials who from that date will assume the vice ministries that make up the Ministry of Popular Power for Health was published in the Official Gazette number 43,300, Decree No. 5,223. The president in charge of the republic, Delcy Rodríguez, recently reported that this restructuring is aimed at “deepening health care and protection policies aimed at the” Venezuelan people.
The renewal of the work team of the Ministry of Health includes the appointment of citizen Alexandra Josefina Hernández de Castillo, a pharmacist with extensive experience in the field of health regulation in the country, who takes over as vice minister of Resources, Technology and Regulation, as manager; Likewise, citizen Magda Mara Magris Crestini, Research Director of the Simón Bolívar Amazon Center for Research and Control of Tropical Diseases, specialist in epidemiology, was appointed as Vice Minister of Collective Health Networks, also in charge.
Likewise, Mauricio Erasmo Vega Méndez, who was vice minister of Health Services Networks and has a recognized career in the field of public health in the country, was appointed as vice minister of Hospitals, in charge; Noly Fernández Hernández, who has served as the Single Health Authority of the state of Zulia, among other positions in public service, will take over as vice minister of Ambulatory Health Care Networks, as manager.
In addition, the appointment of new authorities at the head of decentralized entities attached to the Ministry of Health was made official. Citizen María Gabriela Pulido Cumana will assume the presidency of Venezuelan Technological Services for Health Equipment (Vensalud), while Adriana Yurancy Merchán Biñatte will lead the presidency of the National Corporation of Health Supplies (Consalud). For her part, citizen Yusmila Josefina Martínez will lead the Socialist Company for the Production of Biological Medicines (Espromed BIO), with the aim of strengthening the national production of vaccines and drugs for the population.
These decisions correspond with the appointment of Dr. Nuramy Gutiérrez González as Minister of Popular Power for Health. In this way, the Bolivarian Government reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the National Public Health System (SPNS) through technical and human management, focused on the well-being and stability of the Venezuelan people.
