The Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka and the Greek Maria Sakkari qualified for the semifinals of Indian Wells while in the men’s draw the first two to reach the prelude to the final were the Russian Daniil Medvedev and the American Frances Tiafoe.
Champion of the last edition of the Australian Open, Sabalenka ran over Coco Gauff, the last hope of the USA in the women’s competition, defeating it by an unappealable 6-4 and 6-0 in one hour and 5 minutes.

His rival in the semifinals will be Sakkari, that came back to the Czech Petra Kvitova by 4-6, 7-5 and 6-1 in two hours and 46 minutes.

Medvedev will play the pass to the Indian Wells final against Tiafoe, who beat the British Cameron Norrie -champion of this Masters 1000 in 2021- by a double 6-4 in one hour and 40 minutes.
Carlos Alcaraz, the last Spaniard to continue in Indian Wells, will face off today in the quarterfinals with the Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassimea particularly tough rival for the Murcian as he has beaten him the three times they have met on the track so far.
Lastly, the American Taylor Fritz, current Indian Wells champion, will face Italian Jannik Sinner in the quarterfinals and Alcaraz’s hypothetical rival will come from there.
