The new stage of relations of cooperation between Venezuela and Brazil is advancing steadily, the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, highlighted on Tuesday.
Through his account on the social network Twitter, Gil specified that he had a telephone conversation with his Brazilian counterpart, Mauro Viera, with whom he reviewed the normalization of bilateral relations.
“Excellent conversation with Minister Mauro Vieira, Foreign Minister of Brazil, this new stage of relations is progressing steadily!”, published the Venezuelan Foreign Minister.
Both foreign ministers addressed issues such as the progress in the normalization of bilateral relations, as well as the ongoing negotiations on cooperation in health at the border, said a note from the Chancellery.
“Minister Mauro Vieira maintains telephone contact with the Chancellor of Venezuela, @yvangil @CancilleriaVE. Both will welcome the good progress of the normalization of bilateral relations, for example the ongoing negotiations on #cooperation in #saúde na fronteira”, indicated the Brazilian Foreign Ministry in its account on the social network Twitter.
Next steps
Likewise, during the conversation, the foreign ministers of Venezuela and Brazil evaluated the next steps to resume the binational agenda. They also talked about holding a meeting of vice foreign ministers in the coming weeks, with the aim of defining priority issues for both nations.

Relations between Venezuela and Brazil resumed the path of diplomatic relations with the triumph of Lula da Silva on October 30, 2022, as the new President of the Republic.
It should be remembered that both governments intend to fully restore relations of cooperation and historical friendship as neighboring nations, which were affected during the term of the far-right former president, Jair Bolsonaro.
The President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, has indicated that the relations with Venezuela, which were paralyzed in 2019 during the administration of Jair Bolsonaro, due to his support for the coup attempt.
