With the Pre-Trip program, the tourism sector has begun to recover from the crisis left by the coronavirus pandemic, as thousands of tourists have traveled throughout the country, especially for the celebrations of the Carnival.
Although during the summer season the sector has had a great rebound, for this long weekend of Carnivalin some provinces hotel occupancy reaches 100%, which forecasts that the event it will be a success.
This, added to the progress in the vaccination plan, has allowed tourism to once again be one of the activities that contributes the most to the national economy, so with the Carnival It is expected to close a historic season.
According to figures provided by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Buenos Aires, Córdoba, the Coast and the north of Argentina have been the favorite destinations to celebrate the holidays.
In relation to Buenos Aires, Mar del Plata, Villa Gesell and Pinamar have 90%, 95% hotel occupancy respectively; while in Córdoba localities such as San Javier and Yacanto reach 100%.
The same thing happens in Gualeguaychú, a city to which hundreds of tourists travel every year to celebrate the Carnivalthanks to the wide and varied cultural offer that it offers during parties.
In turn, Patagonia has been one of the most chosen destinations to spend the holiday season, with hotel occupancy of 100% in San Carlos de Bariloche and more than 90% in El Calafate, Las Grutas and Villa La Angostura.
In this regard, the Minister of Tourism, Matías Lammens, pointed out that “tourism is underway and is one of the leading sectors in the economic recovery that our country is experiencing”.
In the City of Buenos Aires, the closure of the Carnival was rescheduled
Due to the weather conditions of the weekend, in the City the closure of the Carnival was rescheduled for March 6, where the murgas to the beat of dance and music will bid farewell to this great event.
Although there will be activities in different parts of the city, the central show will take place on Av. de Mayo, there will be parades, troupes and gastronomic stalls.
