The Social Welfare Institute (IPS) reported that high-cost medicines were received this Friday at the Blood Production and Cellular Therapy Center.
The report talks about 20% Human Albumin in an amount of 2,271 vials of Immunoglobulin, G Intravenous of 5 grams in an amount of 492 vials, with a total value of approximately $350,000 from the fourth remuneration for the surplus fresh frozen plasma that is exported.
It is worth mentioning that Donated blood is not wasted, since it is a very noble liquid that is even converted into medicines for the benefits of the insured.

“We thank our blood donors and we always hope they will donate this vital liquid that science has not yet been able to manufacture,” said the Head of the Production Center, Dr. Romi Alcaraz.
From the IPS they indicate that the institution meets high quality standards to export the raw material that becomes medicines.
This procedure is carried out within the framework of the cooperation agreement signed between the Ministry of Public Health and the National University of Córdoba of Argentina through the Blood Products Laboratory for the exchange of blood plasma for blood products.
