In a ceremony held in the courtyard of the Superior Court of Justice of Huancavelicathe new prefect of Huancavelica, Jesús Ochoa Ignacio, took the oath.
Initially, he did so, as required by protocol, before the president of the Superior Court of Justice of Huancavelica, Máximo Torres Cruz, who, with the bible in hand, took the oath.
When he spoke, Torres Cruz recalled that the outgoing prefect, Zenón Castellano, was appointed less than four months ago, “I don’t know what happened to the prefect,” said the magistrate.
Then, as is traditionally done, he did so before representatives of the Chopcca Nation, who took the oath to him, praying to the Holy Trinity in Quechua, while giving him three blows.
Later, at a press conference, Ochoa Ignacio stated that one of his tasks is the prevention and management of social conflicts in the region.
“Likewise the fight against corruption, there is a lot of work to do there, we know there are paralyzed, abandoned, overvalued works and others, such as the hospital that is paralyzed, there are people who are worried,” said the new official.
Before the appointment of sub-prefects, Ochoa Ignacio stated that he does not want to have empty sub-prefectures and will take the suggestion to see the new charges.
