New police uniforms cost RD$1,053 million

The new uniforms that the agents of the National Police (PN) will begin to be used in 2025, as part of the institutional renewal announced by the Government This Monday, they cost 1,053,987,817.32 pesos.

For this change of imagethe institution acquired a total of 69,145 sets digital (composed of tunic, pants and cap); police pants for men and women, distributed in a proportion of 57,145 and 12,000, respectively; and police shirts (short and long sleeves) in the same proportion for both sexes.

Likewise, 30,000 were purchased ties for men in blue, 4,572 bowties for women of the same shade, 518,585 pieces of underwear, 34,572 caps police (same quantity purchased for boots field and straps), 30,048 pairs of shoes black for men and 4,524 pairs of shoes for women.

The requested clothing also includes badges embroidery, kepis and hats (for men and women), knee pads, elbow pads, balaclavas, scarves, among others accessories.

The sets digital ones cost between 3,049 and 3,320 pesos per unit, while pairs of boots They ranged between 4,100 and 4,250 pesos, depending on the supplier.

The ties for men were made by two companies: All About Security, RCF, SRL, which sold 25,000 units at 293.82 pesos each, and Servicios Generales MA, SRL, which contributed 5,000 units at 180 pesos each.

Most of the bowties for women were also awarded to All About Security, RCF, SRL (3,072 units), which the Government Dominican purchased at a price of 293.82 pesos each.

The companies D’Tec (Defense & Technology), SRL and Solutions 24/7 M&A, SRL will be responsible for delivering the caps of the new uniform police. In this case, the products cost 600 and 610 pesos per garment, respectively.

The process of tender NATIONAL POLICE-CCC-LPN-2023-0004 was published in two national newspapers on August 24 and 25, 2023 and concluded on October 20 with the award of the contract to 23 companies.

According to the specifications, the contracted entities agreed to deliver these garments to dress before March 1 of this year as date limit.

Details of the new uniform

In the program “LA Semanal” last Monday, “version 0” of the new uniformwhich will enter validity starting in 2025, President Abinader reported. On that occasion, Colonel Nandy Reyes Santos explained that it was the sixth prototype developed, taking 10 international police institutions as a reference.

The new design includes a code QR with the general data of the agent (name, rank, team to which he belongs and blood type). Furthermore, each uniform will have a number of plate unique to avoid identity theft.

Chambers are part of another tender

The cameras body parts integrated into the uniforms, presented by the Government this Monday, October 14, were acquired through another tender (also carried out last year), whose objective was the purchase of transport equipment, accessories for vehicles and technological equipment that will be used by the institution.

In this process, 625,573,669.71 pesos were allocated, of which 26,720,200 pesos were used in the acquisition of 520 cameras corporal. Each recording device cost 51,385 pesos.

Also acquired were 177 trucks double cab, 15 14-foot trucks, 520 motorcycles1,040 protective helmets for motorcyclists, among other equipment.
