In the last 24 hours, the National Ministry of Health identified 10,298 new infections of coronavirus and 97 virus-associated deaths nationwidefigures that show a progressive decline in the rate of infections and daily deaths.
According to the data provided in the last epidemiological report, since the beginning of the pandemic of the coronavirus in Argentina, some 8,878,486 people have completed viral diseaseof which 8,628,654 recovered and 125,872 died.
Currently, there are 123,960 people with active cases of coronavirus in all the country, 1,384 of them hospitalized in Intensive Care Units (ICU). The percentage of bed occupancy is 40.8% nationwide and 41.3% in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA).
On this occasion, the province of Buenos Aires was the one that accumulated the highest number of daily infections, with 4,782 cases in one day; while Córdoba was the second with the most cases today, with 1,078 infections in total. These were the only two jurisdictions that reported more than 1,000 positives on this day.
On the other hand, with a lower daily incidence of virusthe provinces of CABA (916), Santa Fe (767), La Rioja (374), Misiones (291), Tucumán (282), Chaco (275), Formosa (233), Corrientes (192), Mendoza ( 184), Entre Ríos (137), Chubut (125), Tierra del Fuego (123) and Río Negro (103).
In this way, the provinces that accumulated the fewest infections were La Pampa (84), Neuquén (79), San Juan (53), Catamarca (52), Salta (38), Santa Cruz (37), Jujuy (32), Santiago del Estero (31) and San Luis (30).
Strategic Vaccination Plan
Since the Government launched the National Free and Public Vaccination Campaign on December 29, 2020, the health authorities have applied 93,008,082 drugs against the coronavirus in the entire populationof the 99,942,965 doses that have already been distributed.
In total, 88.7% of the country’s target population (40,283,881 people) have already received the first dose of the vaccines; while 79.1% (36,237,827 people) completed the regimen with both doses. In addition, 36% of Argentine men and women (13,446,638 people) received the third booster dose.
