The decrees with the exonerations at the request of the ministers were published earlier in Official Diary of the Union (DOU). The departure opens up the possibility of running for public office in the next elections to those who have left office.

During the ceremony in which the inaugural acts of the new ministers were signed, Bolsonaro thanked those who had left their posts and wished good luck to the new occupants of the Esplanade.

“I even asked: are you sure about this decision to take over? Because it is not easy, they will be looked at with a magnifying glass”, said Bolsonaro, who reported that he had already met with the new ministers two days ago.

At the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Minister Marcos César Pontes transferred the position to Paulo César Rezende Alvim. When reporting on his performance in front of the portfolio, Pontes highlighted as one of the achievements the national production of vaccines against diseases such as covid-19, yellow fever, dengue and chikungunya.

“As of this year, Brazil will be independent from concept to production of national vaccines, not only for covid, but also for the next pandemics and neglected diseases such as yellow fever, dengue and chikungunya”, he said.

Rogério Marinho left the Ministry of Regional Development, a portfolio headed by Daniel de Oliveira Duarte Ferreira.

The Ministry of Tourism will be led by Carlos Alberto Gomes de Brito, who replaces Gilson Machado.

The Ministry of Citizenship will be in charge of Ronaldo Vieira Bento, who will take over from João Roma.

Damares Alves leaves the Ministry of Women, Family and Human Rights, which will now be headed by Cristiane Rodrigues Britto.

In the Ministry of Labor and Welfare, Onyx Lorenzoni was replaced by José Carlos Oliveira.

At the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Minister Tereza Cristina gives way to Marcos Montes Cordeiro. In her speech, the former minister recalled that the pandemic of the new coronavirus (covid-19) created a challenge for Brazilian agribusiness, which had to adapt to maintain production.

“Agribusiness has been put to the test. He adapted, created protocols to allow the maintenance of services, production, marketing of products and aware of the importance of supply. That government protected that activity,” he said.

At the Ministry of Infrastructure, Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas leaves and Marcelo Sampaio takes his place. When saying goodbye, Tarcísio said that with the actions of the folder, the transport matrix in the country will be more balanced in the future, with a lower cost of freight.

“We will have, in the future, a much more balanced transport matrix, with a much greater participation of inland navigation, cabotage navigation, rail transport, which will double the participation, we will have a much greater transport offer” , spoke.

Who also said goodbye to the position was the minister of the Secretariat of Government, Flávia Arruda, who gives place to Célio Faria Júnior. The former minister returns to occupy her seat as federal deputy.

When saying goodbye to the portfolio, Flávia Arruda thanked the party leaders of the allied base, the government leaders and the presidents of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), and of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), “without which it would have been impossible to approve important and controversial matters that were fundamental to help Brazil through these turbulent times”, he said.
