New labor union will give real benefits to employees: Gómez Urrutia

The General Association of Workers was formally established yesterday during an assembly in which it fought for a dialogue with the government and institutions to advance in the defense and expansion of labor rights. It was also requested that the labor sector participate in the review of the T-MEC.

The new labor union was made up of the unions of miners, telephone operators, the Metro collective transport system and Monte de Piedad; Likewise, the Regional Mexican Workers’ Confederations (CROM), the Revolutionary Confederations of Workers and Peasants (CROC) and the Workers, Peasants and Employees of Mexico (Cocem), in addition to the National Federation of Banking Unions.

During the meeting held at the Congress Unit of the Siglo XXI National Medical Center, which was attended by the vice coordinator of the Morena parliamentary group in the Chamber of Deputies, Alfonso Ramírez Cuéllar, the leader of the mining workers, Napoleón Gómez Urrutia, He said that the union struggle should not be isolated, but shared and recognized by government institutions and society as a whole.

Gómez Urrutia explained the reasons why the association was created. Among them, he explained that this collective effort was born from the conviction that together we can face the challenges faced in the workplace and achieve true change for the benefit of employees.

Although in the last six years it was possible to reverse the anti-labor policy of past administrations, he said that on the eve of a globalized future and with the relocation of companies to Mexico, we are called to have an organized and solid response.

The importance of unity and solidarity has never been clearer than at this moment. Our country needs a revitalized labor movement, one that is based on dialogue, respect and mutual cooperation.held.

Accompanied by the general secretaries of the groups that made up the new organization, the mining leader added that together they are stronger. The voice of one can be heard, but the voice of thousands can change the course of our history.

The leader of the CROM, Rodolfo González Guzmán, highlighted that Mexican workers must participate in the negotiation of the Free Trade Agreement, in which the Morenoist deputy Ramírez Cuéllar agreed and placed among the challenges that of ending labor and salary discrimination of the women.
