On December 18, the new terminal of the Jorge Chavez International Airport (AIJC), which will stop using the old space, whose entrance is from Faucett Avenue. Beyond the uncertainty generated because the inauguration will be close to the end of the year holidays, one of the big doubts that has arisen is what access to the new infrastructure will be like.

At Lima Airports Partners (LAP) they indicated that from now on entry and exit will be through Morales Duárez Avenue. To do this, starting in October, tests will be carried out with 9,000 passengers, which will also help test the flows, systems, routes and routes.
On the same 18th from 00:00 hours there will be six hours without operations to move the aeronautical equipment, in order for work to begin on the new terminal. What will happen to people who land around midnight? They will still be able to use the old space.
Regarding the questions about the date, LAP stated that they analyzed what was the most suitable time for the inauguration. In that sense, they pointed out that the days when there are fewer passengers are Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Recently, the airline Latam expressed its concern because the works at the AIJC are still under construction and about the possibility that flight capacity will decrease. However, from LAP they clarified that they register a progress of more than 90% and highlighted that the new infrastructure will allow an increase in the portfolio of destinations.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications explained that from the ATU, and in coordination with LAP, authorized public transportation services will be enabled that will interconnect with the new terminal.
“These services will have whereabouts established and published by the ATU for the knowledge of the population, who will be able to arrive and leave the AIJC using the modular bridges installed in Morales Duárez,” they stated.
