From the Association of Poultry Farmers of Paraguay they deny that there is a shortage of eggs. However, they admit that some presentations are lacking and give the theory of what happens.
The president of Avipar, Néstor Zarza, was consulted about the statement from Capasu (Paraguayan Chamber of Supermarkets), which apologized to its customers because the chains are not being supplied and blamed the suppliers.
“We do not agree that there is a shortage of the product, there is a shortage in certain presentations, but for one matter of season”said Zarza, in an interview with 730 AM.

He argued that there is a deficit between supply and demand, since, traditionally, purchases grow in the weeks prior to holy days, however, production remains unchanged and stable.

In this regard, the supermarkets emphasized, as is customary these days, that they They are simple “price takers”, and they lack the capacity to set them, since they depend exclusively on the suppliers.
