MADRID, Spain.- A new group of 49 Cuban doctors was sent to Mexico as part of the health agreement signed last May by the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) and the Cuban regime.

The group was received by Governor Layda Sansores, the Cuban ambassador to Mexico, Marcos Rodríguez, authorities from the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), the Secretary of Health, a representation of state doctors and the consul in that region, Raisel Bald.

We brought them and we are not going to stop thanking the brotherly people of Cuba and their Government because specialist doctors from Cuba are working in the hospital in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, as they are doing in other hospitals in Nayarit and other states,” he said in this regard.
In his weekly conference, the Mexican president also assured: “We are going to continue hiring specialist doctors in Cuba and in other countries, even if it hurts them,” “because we are committed to ensuring that doctors are not lacking.”
The sending of doctors to Mexico has generated great controversy, and opponents of the AMLO government have questioned him for financing the Havana dictatorship through health professionals who are exploited.
