The first is that from this moment on, a a crisis room which will be in session 24 hours a day at the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD) and it will have the support of different ministries in order to deal more effectively with emergencies and help the victims.
“The ministers who have some type of responsibility in matters of housing, relocation, immediate attention, delivery of aid, will be working permanently in that crisis committee under the coordination of the UNGRD“, Parada commented.

Another measure is that, this Wednesday, November 16, President Petro will install a Unified Command Post (PMU) that will meet weekly. of this, too The regional actors with the highest levels of crisis will take part and will be led by the head of state.
“It is fully articulated with the UNGRD, with the risk system that has disaster committees at the departmental and municipal levels. The first response is provided by the municipal authorities, but the National Government declares itself in a permanent crisis room to support, accompany and care for them.s,” Prada explained.

The latest measure is that, this Tuesday, November 15, there will be a board of directors of the Risk Attention Fund, which will meet with the objective of approving budget allocations to attend emergencies.
Resources are prioritized for hunger care.
“We are not going to allow that in this situation of disaster and disturbance in the territory we have the possibility that Colombians are left isolated with shortages, which is why we will attend to the first thing, that there is a sufficient supply of food as a humanitarian response“said the Ministry of the Interior.

The announcements were made after a follow-up committee to the emergency already declared by the Government, which was headed by President Gustavo Petro, was held.

It is worth remembering that 2.1 trillion pesos have already been allocated to mitigate the consequences of the rainy season with the declaration of national disaster, with which it is easier to allocate resources to the victims.
The objective of the Government is also to deliver kits with medicines and with elements that the communities require.
According to data from the UNGRD, from January 1 to this Sunday, November 13, 2,707 rain events have been registered in 776 municipalities of the country. This leaves 205 deaths, 281 injured, 53 missing and 496,226 people affected.
