Santo Domingo.-By defining the current stage that the political organization is experiencing as transcendent, the general secretary of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Johnny Pujols, explained that the X Ordinary Congress Reinaldo Pared Pérez decided to refound the Party.
“This implies building ourselves again on the foundations that gave us origin, on the essential ideas that saw us born,” said Pujols when thanking Santiago de los Caballeros for the invitation to participate in a celebration by the provincial leadership, as an act of welcome to the new members of the Central Committee in the northern province.
He also urged those present to work for party unity, to maintain loyalty to the PLD above sympathies for any particular leadership within the organization. Also to undertake with enthusiasm and dedication the pertinent work to guarantee the return of the PLD to power in 2028.

He defined these objectives as an arduous task because it involves transforming the current culture, organizational aspects, which involve effort, work and dedication.
In his words, the general secretary of the PLD reminded the attendees, the vast majority of whom were members of the Central Committee and leaders, of the commitments assumed when being selected for that position.
“The first task is to understand, in all that this implies, that you have reached that position to work, assume the responsibilities given,” he commented.
Pujols warned about some weaknesses that have affected the PLD in which “we must all work to overcome these limitations.”
He also pointed out that work must be done to return discipline to the PLD, which has been affected by indiscipline: “we have to respect party norms. What unites us are the statutory provisions, which we must rigorously respect.”
Antonio Peña Mirabal, preceded Pujols in his words, introducing each of the elected members of the Central Committee in the three constituencies of Santiago.
“The higher the level of hierarchy, the higher the level of responsibility in the Dominican Liberation Party,” said Peña Mirabal, making the formal presentation of the new members of the Central Committee in Santiago.
He reasoned that the PLD needs women and men who always act thinking about the Party, beyond individualities: “Without the Party there is no leadership that survives,” he added, closing his words with “Good time.” “To work.”
Gustavo Sánchez and Aura Toribio, from the Political Committee, the Provincial President, the presidents of the three Circumscriptions of Santiago, as well as Fernando Rosa and Ramón Ventura Camejo, who he believes should also be declared an Ad Vitan member of the Political Committee, participated in the event.
After the moment of the words, the attendees shared pleasantly in an atmosphere of respect, familiarity and trust, as explained in a statement from the organization.
