MIAMI, United States. – The Cuban regime appointed new first secretaries of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) in the provinces of Granma and Camagüey, according to official media reports this weekend.
Federico Hernández Hernández, until now the first secretary of the PCC in Granma, was replaced by Yanaisi Capó Nápoles. In turn, Hernández Hernández went on to occupy the same position in the province of Camagüey, where he replaced Ariel Santana Santiesteban.
The official media they did not specify the reasons for the dismissal of Santana Santiesteban; they only indicated that his work for almost three years at the head of the Provincial Committee of the PCC in Camagüey had been recognized.

Capó Nápoles is an engineer in Mechanization of Agricultural Production and, according to official media, she obtained a scientific master’s degree in Economics and politics. Since 2021 she has been a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba.
For his part, Hernández Hernández has a degree in Geography. The partisan cadre began his working life in the Flora and Fauna company of Niquero, which received numerous criticisms during his mandate in the eastern province, various media reports.
Also at the end of March transcended that the official Susely Morfa González, who rose to fame at the Summit of the Americas in Panama in 2015, had been appointed first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the PCC in Matanzas.
The appointment took place during the plenary session of the Balance Assembly of the Party in the territory, a meeting that was chaired by the Cuban leader Miguel Díaz-Canel.
A native of Cienfuegos, Morfa González replaced Liván Izquierdo Alonso, who, according to the state press, went on to perform “other partisan tasks.”
Also in Villa Clara, in mid-March, Osnay Miguel Colina Rodríguez was promoted to the position of first provincial secretary of the PCC, replacing Yudí Rodríguez Hernández, who was assigned “new responsibilities” in the Central Committee of the Party, reported the local press.
