Consolidating the unity of the original peoples of the entire nation, with greater emphasis on the Zulia region, is the main objective of the Congress of the New Era Zulia chapter, promoted by President Nicolás Maduro on October 12, during a national meeting with the peoples ancestral.

About, Arly Gonzalez member of the leadership team of the Congress of the New Era, Indigenous Chapter in Zulia, highlighted that the Bolivarian Revolution dignified the indigenous, achieving demands that are in force, such as including their rights in the National Constitution, indigenous laws and political participation- society, in all spheres of society.
“There are aspects to strengthen and improve, which is why President Maduro called for the absolute unity of the indigenous people based on collective well-being,” González proposed.
He added that the state of Zulia has the highest percentage of native population and for this reason they are advancing in plans and projects to improve the quality of life of these ethnic groups and achieve the unity of the native peoples.
Assemblies with ethnic groups in all municipalities
This week assemblies were held in the municipalities: Miranda, Cabimas, Jesús Enrique Lossada, Machiques and Almirante Padilla, with the participation of representatives of the indigenous organizations and movements of the region, who put forward unitary proposals, to present them to the Venezuelan head of state, from November 12 to 14.
“We indigenous people are active in various organizations and social movements; we have different and visions; but it is time to group together in a single block, to fight for the continuity of President Maduro. There is no other way, only Chavez and then Maduro have taken us into account, the right wing discriminates against us,” said González.
The Wayuu representative highlighted that the assemblies of the Congress of the New Era, indigenous chapter, will continue in 20 municipalities of Zulia. These meetings allow the debate and approaches of the organizations, to reach a consensus and agree with President Nicolás Maduro, the execution of new plans for the benefit of the ancestral population of Zulia.

He stressed that the assemblies have had the direction of the state authorities of the Congress of the New Era, indigenous chapter, headed by Yosmary Fernández, national tutor; Glenis Semprum, regional tutor; Lisandro Márquez, Arly González, Dulce Morán, Leida Martínez, Fredy Panapera, who collected the proposals of each municipality.
He invited the Zulian community to the meeting of the Maracaibo municipality, to be held on the “Mamón” field, Idelfonso Vásquez parish, on Saturday 29 at 2 pm, which will be attended by national authorities.

The indigenous sector of the Miranda municipality participated in the assembly of the Congress of the New Era 2022, held in El Mamón II, San José parish.
Lisandro Márquez, secretary of the Zulia New Era Congress, highlighted the instruction of President Nicolás Maduro, is to include the eight states with indigenous representation.
