New edition of the International Transport and Logistics Fair is inaugurated in Havana

The International Fair of Transportation and Logistics (FITL 2022), whose initial date had been postponed due to the weather conditions typical of Hurricane Ian in western Cuba, was inaugurated this Tuesday in Havana, according to official media reports on the island.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Cuba, Jorge Luis Perdomo, and the head of the sector, Eduardo Rodríguez, led the opening ceremony at the Pabexpo fairgrounds, where businessmen from 12 countries, representatives of national non-state forms of management, and Cubans living in outside, according to office of the Prensa Latina (PL) agency.

The media highlights that one of the purposes of the exhibition and commercial meeting will be to promote business opportunities, cooperation projects and investments, as well as favor the consolidation of other existing ones in a sector that has been hit hard by the economic sanctions imposed by the United States government. to the island.

The theme of the population transportation is one of the great problems that the Cuban government has faced in recent decades, for which it seeks solutions through the offers of production, service and marketing companies from Mexico, Venezuela, Belgium, China, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, the United States United States, the Netherlands and Italy, which will interact with 52 local exhibitors.

PL anticipates that during the fair the portfolio of foreign investment projects in transport and project management for international cooperation in the sector will be presented.

In turn, the Cubana de Aviación company will announce new cargo routes and the Cuban Aviation Corporation will promote its actions to increase operations based on the sightseeingadd post.

The launch of the new higher-level degree in Transportation Engineering and a specialized business round are also planned to expose the progress of the naval, railway and automotive industries.

PL considers that all these actions seek to encourage the development of the different actors in the economy, promote foreign investment directly, promote international cooperation and attract financing for infrastructure development, and stimulate and diversify exports of goods and services.

As part of the fair An associated theoretical event also began on Tuesday in which experts from different nations will discuss issues such as the sustainable mobility of passengers and cargo, the modernization of means of transport and infrastructure, and the use of renewable energies.

The repair and manufacture of spare parts and aggregates, the efficiency of supply chains, logistics in general and new technologies associated with services will also be part of the program, according to the agency.
