New Director of the National Police outlined his action plan at the head of the institution

He new Director of the National Police, General William Rincón outlined its action plan based on three fundamental dimensions for the institution: security and coexistence, dignity and democracy, emphasizing the shared responsibility between the State and society in the protection of life.

General Rincón highlighted that security must be measured in synergies and not only in numbers, demanding articulated action to confront the mutation of crime, including micro-trafficking and extortion.

In a ceremony presided over by President Gustavo Petro Urrego, General Rincón Zambrano took office as director general of the National Police. With a career of more than 33 years in the institution, Rincón Zambrano has committed to working for a more inclusive society.

Regarding the issue of Security, he stated what will guarantee the institutional neutrality and respect for human rights in intelligence work.

Regarding dignity, he promised to offer psychological support from the Police and to provide spiritual accompaniment to those in uniform as well as to manage scholarships and opportunities for the children of police officers.

Likewise, he referred to the issue of security in the next elections, which he assured They must be developed in a free, trustworthy, participatory and peaceful environment. The plan includes, according to General Rincón, protection of applicants and candidates.

Likewise, he stated that he will have surveillance and security of the voting stations and monitoring of emerging threats to avoid crimes of any kind during these elections.
