Everything is ready for former President Santos to assume his new job as a professor at the National University.

The former president and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Juan Manuel Santos, will now take on a new challenge, this time at the National University, this August 30, the inaugural lecture “Peace, Path and Destiny” will be given.
He will be a new Special Professor at the Institute of Political Studies and International Relations (IEPRI) of that house of studies.
The event will take place at the La Paz campus of the university, located in the department of Cesar.
The headquarters of La Paz was founded in 2017, at the request of the local population.
Students from La Guajira, Magdalena and Cesar arrive at this university.
The former president as a teacher
Professors Alejo Vargas, academic professor and analyst of security, defense and peace issues, and Rodrigo Uprimmy, professor of Law, will participate in the event.
Peace will be one of the axes to deal with the arrival of the former president.
One of the topics they will deal with is the ‘port of arrival, peace in Colombia’, at least that’s what Ricardo Peñaranda, director of (IEPRI), points out.

Two years ago, Dolly Montoya, rector of the university, and Juan Manuel Santos, spoke about the possibility of the Nobel Peace Prize winner teaching at the headquarters.
The pandemic, Santos’ agenda and other reasons was what delayed the link to the collegebut despite everything, the time has come for the former president to be the new professor.
Santos was on a peace mission trip to Ukraine, to speak with President Zelensky and the war that his country is going through this year with Russia.
