“My Estimated Retirement” is the new BPS service that gives workers the opportunity to know the estimated amount of their retirement. This service is available on the BPS website and is designed for those who are close to meeting the requirements to retire.
How does “My Estimated Retirement” work?
To use this service, users must have a personal BPS user account. Once logged in, they can access “My Estimated Retirement” and obtain an estimated pension. The calculated amount will include both the pension provided by the BPS and, if applicable, the income from an AFAP.
Requirements and Restrictions
To request this calculation, workers must meet certain requirements:
- Be of sufficient age and have enough working years to qualify for a pension through the BPS.
- Be two years or less away from meeting these requirements.
- Not receiving a retirement pension, incompatible pension, temporary subsidy for partial disability or special subsidy for compensated inactivity.
- Not having activity in specific areas such as fishing, stevedoring, seasonal work, on-demand or piecework.
It is important to note that this calculation will not be available in cases of retirement due to disability or when the retirement includes years worked in other funds or abroad.
