The Dominican Airports Company XXI Century (Aerodom) reported that it was a “scheduled cut”, the new blackout recorded early Monday at the International Airport of the Americas (Aila), José Francisco Peña Gómez (SDQ).
«At 2:00 am today it was necessary to make a scheduled cut To allow the change of a generatorafter which the electrical service and the operations were restored safely and timely, ”said Aerodom through a statement.
In the same way, he reported that Operations at the air terminal are completely normalizedafter the electric interruption of about nine hours recorded this Sunday, which caused delays on more than 20 flights and generated multiple complaints among passengers.
“The flights scheduled for today remain unchanged,” he said.
Aerodom also expressed its thanks to all travelers for understanding the situation, which defined as extraordinary.
«We want to thank the patience and comprehension of our Passengers and users, ”he said.
In addition, the company added that it will collaborate with the authorities to investigate the causes of the prolonged blackout yesterday, “with the interest of preventing a similar event from happening again.”
