Around 09:40 on Wednesday morning, a patrol vehicle (it could be a jeep or a 4×4 truck) from the Internal Defense Operations Command (CODI) detonated an explosive implanted in the ground. According to preliminary data, the incident left two officers injured, but, so far, no deaths.
The attack occurred in the “Paraíso” ranch, located in the Yby Yaú district (Concepción) where in September 2020, two girls were killed for being confused as members of the self-styled Army of the Paraguayan People (EPP).
Estancia Paraíso was the site of the confrontation on September 2, 2020, when the CODI assaulted a camp of the self-styled Army of the Paraguayan People (EPP). It would be the same cell that kidnapped a teacher and killed two pawns. It is the red zone, the critical point where the EPP unfolds.
It is worth remembering that CODI established a corridor through the area. Last year a patrol was already attacked. It is a common travel area. This time, no deaths are reported. The affected officers requested help by radio since it is a closed area and there is no telephone communication. The first report indicated that there were two injured who required medical assistance.
