New agreements and possible extension of current ones

The Ministry of Transport and Public Works (MTOP) is evaluating new agreements for the granting of resources during this year to institutions that have applied for them for the first time. Meanwhile, other organizations are waiting for an extension of agreements to complete works.

Edgard Collazo, regional representative of the MTOP, told EL ECO this week: “New agreements that have been requested in the country will surely be the first to emerge, and it will also be possible to expand the agreements with institutions that require a second stage.”

This is the case of Cadis Nueva Palmira, to make the changing rooms of the already closed and heated swimming pool and of Salas Velatorias de Palmira which needs to make a second room and other works.

When EL ECO pointed out that there is little time left for the period to end and the institutions that need an extension of the agreement fear being left for the next five-year period, with the delays that this implies, Collazo responded that they have “time until next February for the agreements.” He added that if the government coalition wins, the current MTOP minister, José Luis Falero, hopes to continue in the same position. “In this way, with all the work that has been carried out, the issue of agreements can be further adjusted and improved, something that has yielded many results in the country under the current government.”
