Avianca and Aerolíneas Argentinas sign a codeshare agreement that will expand routes and facilitate travel between Colombia and Argentina.
The connectivity between Colombia and Argentina will add a new stage of integration thanks to a bilateral codeshare agreement announced by Grupo Abra and Aerolíneas Argentinas, which will allow Avianca routes to be combined with the domestic and international operations of the Argentine airline.
The agreement seeks facilitate passenger movement between both countries and expand the possibilities of regional connection.
How will the alliance work?
Users will be able to travel with a single ticket and a single check-in processsimplifying scales and reducing times. Operational coordination will allow more agile connections and a greater offer for those traveling beyond the main airports.

Avianca will have commercial access to 12 Argentine cities connected from Buenos Aires, including Bariloche, Mendoza, Rosario, Salta, Ushuaia and El Calafate.
Meanwhile, Aerolíneas Argentinas will incorporate nine Colombian destinations connected from Bogotá, such as Cartagena, Medellín, Cali, San Andrés and Barranquilla, allowing trips without separate tickets or multiple registrations.
The agreement will also expand the existing interline agreement, integrating 18 additional destinations in Argentina and Brazil operated by Aerolíneas Argentinas and 12 cities in Central and South America connected by Avianca.
The implementation will depend on regulatory authorizations in both countries. Once approved, the integration will begin to be applied progressively.

The companies highlighted that the agreement will strengthen travel options in the Southern Cone and expand the regional network. Grupo Abra stated that the measure will bring Colombia and Argentina even closer through Avianca routes.

The announcement comes after both airlines established a cooperation framework in 2023 to extend commercial and operational agreements.
The update confirms the goal of building a integrated network with greater coverage in South America.
