The network of young parliamentarians and parliamentarians Robert Serra celebrated its IV National Meeting in the protocol hemicycle of the Federal Legislative Palace, where youth leaders congregated to strengthen the prominence of this sector in the legislative field.
The activity was headed by the second vice president of the National Assembly (AN), Deputy America Pérez, and was attended by about 190 young people among national deputies, regional legislators and councilors throughout the country.
Robert Serra’s legacy
Deputy America Pérez stressed that the network, formed in 2023, is a “collective construction space” that has contributed significantly to youth empowerment. It emphasizes that the organization embodies the “synthesis and essence” of deputy Robert Serra, whose memory “feeds and inspires consciousness, soul and spirit of Venezuelan youth.”
Pérez affirms that this meeting is a space for dialogue, legislation and joint work, which includes the legacy of struggle, commitment and love for the homeland that characterized Serra, making it an “ethical and political reference” for new generations.
Historical reflection
The cycle of presentations began with the Secretary of the Legislative Power, María Alejandra Hernández Aldana, who instructed young people about the internal function and work of the National Assembly, in accordance with the Internal Regulations and debates of the AN (Ridan).
Subsequently, Deputy Nicolás Maduro Guerra offered a presentation in which the empowerment of the Venezuelan people granted by Commander Hugo Chávez, contrasting it with the governments of the fourth Republic. He made a recount of the historical process and recent political tensions, in addition to remembering the loss of the AN in 2015 at the hands of the “extreme Venezuelan right”, which he accuses of sabotaging the country and ignoring the Constitution.
Maduro Guerra said that the recovery of the revolutionary parliamentary order in 2020 allowed to resume the legislative path in defense of the nation, stating that Venezuela is in a constant “historical conflict” against the interests of imperialism that seek to “appropriate the resources of Venezuelans.”
The day culminated in the reaffirmation of the commitment of young parliamentarians with the political project and sovereignty of the country.
